I had never heard of Somatic Counseling before my session with Megan Sherman this past year. I am so glad I was open to the experience as it was an amazing process. At the time I was experiencing a lot of anxiety due to big life changes and finances. She helped me learn to feel my anxiety in my body and learn practices that helped me not feel overrun by it and be more compassionate with myself. It was a rewarding experience, and I am now more aware of how I hold my emotions or trauma in my physical body. It was such a unique experience and one that resonated with me as a physically active person and as an artist.
I could see myself using Somatic Counseling in the future as needed and would always hope that I could get Megan again to guide me. She gives people her full attention, diving deep but always holding space as needed. We are in a better world with her to help people process. ~LR

I came to Megan with chronic muscle tension, migraines, a frazzled nervous system, and a body that held onto stored trauma like a shield of armor. I was desperate for relief in a journey of pain that felt like as much as a part of me as my own name. I had done decades of body work, tried all the conventional and unconventional approaches to chronic pain, and treatments would give relief and then just stop working. I was thrilled that Megan introduced me to a therapy program that combines somatic practices and mindful body awareness because it has changed my life. I’ve learned SO MUCH! Megan is easy to talk to, is encouraging and prompts me to look at situations in a different way. She is truly a healer. I’ve created daily habits that keep my nervous system functioning as it should and recalibrated my body to heal it self. When doing MABT and that first wrecking ball of a sob came barreling out of my body I was a believer. Then with the sense of peace and relief that came over me afterwards and since, I knew I found a safe and successful place to heal and grow.
